Our Island Hideaway is located in the beautiful Maalaea Banyans, Maalaea, Maui, about 75 ft. from the ocean. It is a completely furnished 1br/1ba unit including a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room, so that four people can occupy the unit comfortably. It is air-conditioned and has a large lanai which directly faces the ocean. A fully equipped modern kitchen featuring New ceramic Top Radiant Heat Range & Oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and all amenities for cooking along with a new washer/dryer make our vacation home complete in every way. Our unit is attractively furnished with a tropical motif and excellently maintained.
Enjoy spectacular sunrises while you have breakfast on our spacious lanai. Listen to the waves crashing as you dine in our Island Hideaway. In the summer months you can also watch the surfers who ride the world famous Maalaea Bay Freight Train. Also throughout the winter months you can watch the humpback whales display their majesty, from our lanai.

(Sometimes you can get 2 for 1 by looking in the Maui News or other local paper for their Anniversary Specials). We highly recommend the Waterfront.
Buzz's Wharf - Located in Ma'alaea Harbor. Great place to relax and enjoy a drink.
Beach Bums HarborFront Grill and Bar - Located in the Ma'alaea Triangle about an 8 minute walk overlooking the harbor. Food is promptly served and is good.
Maalaea Grill - Located in the Ma'alaea Triangle about an 8 minute walk overlooking the harbor. Great food at reasonable prices. Outstanding decor.
Seascape Restaurant located in the Maui Ocean Center open for lunch only- you do not have to pay admission to get to the restaurant.
Carls Jr - located near the Union 76 gas station on Honoapiilani Hwy
Convenience stores:
Tradewinds Mart & Deli is located in the Ma'alaea Mermaid a short walk towards the harbor area. Hours: 9 AM - 9 PM M- Th, 9 AM - 10 PM Fri & Sat. You can rent videos here.
The Ma'alaea Store is open 9 AM to 3:00 PM, M - F and is a short walk to the Ma'alaea Harbor.It is mainly a fishing supply store.
Circle K - located near the Union 76 gas station on Honoapiilani Hwy
Activities: Walk along Ma'alaea Beach/Sugar Beach. At the end of Hauoli St, (go right when you exit the building), there is a public beach park called Haycraft Park and a 7mile beach that stretches all of the way to Kihei. You can swim, surf, sun, snorkel and walk along this beach.
Maui Ocean Center: Maui's new aquarium is located near the harbor, a short walk from your condo. Admission is about$22 per adult.
Ma'alaea Harbor: Just a short walk from the condo is the Harbor where you can watch surfers, take a whale-watching cruise (winter months) or snorkel cruise, fishing expedition or enjoy a romantic sunset dinner cruise. Novelty shops.

We left Edmonton's -10 C weather to arrive 6 hours later in the beautiful warm breezes of Maui. A quick trip to the grocery store and a short drive and we had arrived at this comfortable condo in Maalaea. It was easy to find and get settled, everything was just as the listing had indicated. Wendall had been very helpful with all our questions and the only surprise was that we could see whales from our lanai almost every day. We found the location perfect. Short walk to a beautiful quiet beach or a few blocks the other direction to a great little marina, farmer's market, restaurants. We spent our 2 weeks taking advantage of adventures taking us to all corners of the island and a sailboat across the Bay to go snorkeling at Molokini. We took advantage of the fresh vegetables, fruit and fish markets to prepare some great meals. After 6 months of winter BBQ cooking tastes GREAT!! The Condo offered everything we needed and more -coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards, kitchen supplies, internet access, binoculars, wonderful view of the Bay, the sound of the waves to sing you to sleep. This was a very stress free holiday, great location, smiling faces, we would recommend it to everyone. Sadly we had to return home and winter is still here!

When we arrived we stayed with family in another Maalaea condo and what a welcomed change it was to come to #218 at the Banyans! All the thoughtful details did not go unnoticed. Very comfortable, clean and you can tell that everyone else who has stayed here enjoyed their time as well. We perused the guest book and noticed a great many things people left behind for the future enjoyment of other tenants. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Maui! The location is perfect and central to all that we did :) Not to mention the ocean view of the Whales and their babies!

We enjoyed a week from Sept-Oct at this well-appointed, beachfront condo. Dining on the lanai offered beautiful sunrises/sunsets and unforgettable day and evening views. Our hosts were accessible and well in-tune to travelers needs. If visiting Maui again, we would definitely stay here. Mahalo!

We lived in Wendall's #218 from July 19 to 28, 2010. It is a perfect place to live for Maui vacation. The location is at the center of Maui, so it is a perfect start point to everywhere. It is quiet and clean, beauiiful ocean front view. We had our every dinner on the lanai. BBQ and Pools are super clean. You can find everything you need inside the condo. My surprise is the three play boards. That is just perfect for us three people. Sure to come back to live here again, and reference to my friends.

We had a wonderful time in Mauii Banyans #218. It was one of the best equipped and maintained condos I've stayed in. I'll be telling all my friends and showing the pix of the magnificent sunrises, the turtles, the Hawaiian fisherman who caught 15 fish in 15 min. It was all Wendall said it would be and more. Can't wait to go back!!

This is a delightful, clean unit with a great view. Area is quiet and grounds are beautiful. The sounds of the ocean is very soothing . Good area, near stores, restuarants and in the middle of lots of activities.

We have stayed in other units at Maalaea Banyons several times over the years, but Unit 218 is the absolute best! Great location, well equipped, superb view - like staying at the home of good friends. Our April 2008 week was not long enough - we will definitely be back!

After checking the internet in 2007, we were lucky enough to find this wonderful condo. After talking to the owner we booked
the month of Feb. 2007. Words cannot express how pleased we were upon our arrival. The unit was equipt with everything you could possibly want or need. The ocean front location is perfect.
So perfect in fact, we booked it again for Feb. 2008. We just returned home from another awesome month and everything was as great if not better. The weather was perfect and the whales out did themselves to enterain us daily. Needless to say we are booked for Feb. 2009. Aloha

THis is my first visit to the Island of Maui. I was suggested to take a look at this unit. After talking to owner I believed this sounds like the place. I was overwhelm how nice and convenient this Hideaway is. I will come back defenitely again and stay in this Hideaway. The unit is immaculate and right on the water. I wound suggest this Hideaway to all.
