Ride one of our dozen horses, work out in our private17-peice Cybex gym, relax in the heated pool, jacuzzi. Take a trip down to the river or across the mesa on our mountain bikes. All are included free of an extra charge.
Our bilingual guest services manager is available throughout the day to help you coordinate trips, arrange massages, coordinate celebrations and whatever you may need. Have a taco cart or an ice cream cart or a churro cart brought to the hacienda for the evening. Love the 4th of July firework displays? We can arrange for that right on the hacienda grounds. Mariachi bands are there for the asking.
Or just relax: upon stepping out the gates each morning, you look across the square to the lovely ancient church, watch the slow comings and goings of daily village life, and step out onto the sliver trail for a walk.
When you return you can schedule a massage with one of our 6 massage therapists in our in-house spa or lounge around in our hammocks.
The villagers are friendly, and the area is very safe.
Life at the hacienda is so enjoyable that you may not want to do all those other things that you had planned! Nonetheless you can drive the short distance to Dolores Hidalgo for beautiful talavera pottery and tiles. San Miguel is close-by, beautiful artist colony discovered by gringos 60 years ago. The colorful city of Guanajuato is only 40 minutes away where you can drive your cart through the silver mine tunnels.
You can visit the natural hot springs whose long tunnel, which ends in a cave with water gushing out, reminds you of a scene from Indiana Jones.
Or spend the day at an olympic-size swimming pool filled with the same hot water. There is even golf and tennis to be found nearby if the spirit moves you.
If you have stayed in busy San Miguel before, you will appreciate our quieter nights, peaceful days, and lack of auto traffic and fumes. The water is purified, and bottled-water dispensers are located throughout the hacienda.
We are pet-friendly, but please inquire.
We are child-friendly, too. The village is full of children. They quickly entice any visiting children into their giggling midsts. Language does not seem to be a problem. The kids that have stayed here do not want to leave when it's time to go home.
No smoking inside, please. There are plenty of outdoor living areas.
