The Virreina Museum, a large palace built in the 16th century and now exhibiting comtemporary art, is at the end of the block. The Ramblas is a block down with many vendors of a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. The continuation of Calle Carmen, past the Ramblas will take you directly to the cathedral square and the cloisters - a 10 minute walk. This street that takes you there is one of the most popular shoe and alternative chothing shopping streets in Barcelona for the newest trends (Calle Portaferrisa).
