My family of 6 stayed in a Cluster II three bedroom Villa for February break. Berquiz was extremely accomodating arranging transportation and golf cart for us. We had her driver Jose take us to Old San Juan for the day and he was great. The land is so beautiful and the people are so friendly. They will do anything to help you enjoy your Puerto Rico experience. The Villa itself is very clean and well stocked. We bought local coffee and brewed it in the coffee maker every morning. I had one of the taxis takeme down to the local mart for milk and fruit. During our Bacardi tour we bought a bottle of Rum and used the blender every evening for cocktails. The drinks at the pool are $10 each so we made our own. The linens were generous. There is a "private beach and pool" right down the hill from the Villa. The waterslide in the main poool was a big hit with the kids. I enjoyed our visit so much we are planning on returning next year. Renting this villa was definitely the only way to stay at the Rio Mar. The rainforest is literally across the road and absolutely breathtaking.

We had such an amazing time at this resort! Upon arrival, Berquiz's assistant drove us to our villa and showed us around, and Berquiz soon came to greet us as well. So friendly! And the accommodations were wonderful - very homey feeling, with a SPECTACULAR view of the lakes and golf course - we were so glad not to be in a sterile hotel room surrounded by hundreds of other guests. Our own golf cart and just a five minute scoot to the actual resort (pools, shop, overpriced restaurant), where we sat in the hot tub and spoke to folks who were paying 5x what we were! About halfway to the resort we discovered a pool that we weren't sure if we could use, but dove in, and discovered that most guests simply didn't know about it, and were greeted with a smile by the security guard who sat watch in the parking lot. We spent a good amount of time there (right off the beach, as well, with beach chairs for use!), and rarely were there more than 5 other people there, and often we were alone. We were very glad we had a car, so we could get out and eat some real Puerto Rican food (and the most amazing pina coladas we've ever had!), and on the one day that it stormed, we were able to relax indoors, play board games, and go to the local movie theatre. The ONLY problem, which we had everywhere in Puerto Rico, is that ants tend to find food easily, and we had to be sure to store our food really well and keep all the dishes continuously washed - but we had that problem at the beach when we set down our drinks for a short time in the sand. If we make it back to this island, I would definitely want to stay here again!
