The resort has 24-hour security and provides a relaxed informal atmosphere and is located in the heart of the town of ocho rios. Because of its convenient location a car is not necessary as many attractions including a casino, the internationally known Hard Rock Café Restaurant and Bar which offers live music and the chance to view rare memorabilia from the music world, Jimmy Buffett's Margaretaville Bar & Grill which is located in the Island Village Entertainment Complex and offers all-day fun, nightly entertainment, an interactive Reggae Museum and duty free shopping are all within 5 minutes walking distance.
Ocho Rios is located on Jamaica's north-east coast (the approximate middle of the northern coastline) in the Parish of St. Ann, approximately 11/2 hours drive east from Montego Bay. The town is now the cruise ship capital of Jamaica and boasts large stretches of beaches many fringed by palm trees.
Area highlights include Dolphin Cove where visitors can swim with the dolphins and interact with stingrays and tropical birds and reptiles, Dunn's River Falls which is a must experience for first-time visitors. Stepping stones allow visitors easy access up and down the falls under a stimulating shower. Another area attraction of interest is Fern Gully where under a canopy of trees a visitor is surrounded by thousands of magnificent ferns. Finally, for those who are reggae lovers a visit to the birthplace of reggae icon/superstar Bob Marley is a must.

Comments for Sandcastles Resort Vacation Rental 
We spent a wonderful week in Ochos Rios on the beach daily (located directly behind the apartment) plus the touring the city and attractions. The patio was an extra treat. We awakened every morning to the clear blue sky and had our morning coffee in the nice fresh air and looked down on the beach. Quite relaxing!
The highlight of the trip was the apartment we stayed in at Sandcastles. It had a home like atmosphere and was decorated with a lovely Jamacian flair. Our food was excellently prepared by our maid Pauline. After all, why go to Jamacia if you don't eat real homecooked Jamacian food. This was one of the best vacations we have ever had.

My stay in Unit D15 was wonderful, for me, my husband and my infant daughter. The housekeeper Paulette is wonderful as well. The view from the balcony is wonderful. Every morning we had a chance to see all the cruise ships come in. The beach is not crowded and neither is the pool area. You don't have to get up early to "mark your spot" as you have to do on larger properties. The resort is conveniently located for day and night activity. I would definitely stay here again.

My stay at the apartment was second to none.the apartment is as exactly as shown in the pictures. beautiful scenery of the beach and cruise ship dock.cool breeze constantly flowing through. pauline, the housekeeper was very attentive. introducing us to delicious local cuisine. everything within walking distance in a safe environment.

What a perfect vacation in Jamaica.
The condo is beautiful. Very bright, clean and decorated like an island get-away should be.
The location couldn't be better. We enjoyed the beach and sipping wine on the balcony while we watched the cruise ships come and go out. Restaurants and shopping are walking distance.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Everything exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend staying here.

We just came back from a wonderful week at Sandcastles Resort. The condo was superb, it met all our needs and expectations. The location was prime, all ammenities were included and accessible for our leisure. We walked alot as all the shops were at our footsteps, especially the flea markets, what an experience!!!!!!!!! A housekeeper maintained the unit daily and pampered us with soul-food cooking. We have already began planning for our return, it will not be long before we return. We feel fortunate to have made a new friend with the owner, Lloyd. Thanks for the 2007 memories.

This was a great little 1 bedroom condo that is perfect for a couple.. Excellent location with everything close by. We had no problems at all. The housekeeper is the best and is worth extra to cook for you a few nights. She took me shopping and to the bank to exchange money. This is a "no frills" place but was very relaxing. We had none of the problems with locals and a taxi driver who was assigned to the hotel took us to places, then came back for us at a certain time and he was always there.
