The OdonataNestled in one of Rainbow Lake's many bays, this classic Adirondacks lake house offers a rustic retreat with all the comforts of home.
During your Adirondack vacation, walk down to the wooden bridge to your very own private island where a complimentary rowboat, kayak, 2 canoes and fishing dock are provided. Everyone will enjoy having lunch on the island, swimming to the floating raft off the island, and launching one of the many boats to explore all of Rainbow Lake.
At night relax after dinner under the stars on the back porch or enjoy dining or relaxing in front of the cobblestone fireplace on the screened sitting porch. On winter nights, stay warm in the log cabin in front of the main fireplace.
Rainbow Lake is a lovely, quiet place 12 miles northwest of Saranac Lake and a 30-minute drive from Lake Placid.

Privacy and the sense of exploration is all yours. Fifty yards from our dock is 2 miles of undeveloped and protected state land. In fact after you pass the two houses at the 2 mile mark, there are many many more miles of waterfront, land and islands to explore, camp and picnic.

For the Audubon enthusiasts, the adjoining woods, water and island attract numerous species of birds. In the area you may also see mink, otter, beaver, bear or maybe moose.
While paddling or boating along the 25 miles of scenic waterway, you might encounter some of our wildlife residents, such as: beaver, otter, mink, loons, great blue heron, and cranes, just to name a few. This is a bird watcher's paradise with over 60 different species sighted in just one week. The back bays of Rainbow Lake offer tranquil fishing, and solitude, while the main lake gives way to swimming, boating, water-skiing, sailing, and canoeing.
Rainbow is a private lake with no public access, stocked yearly for fishing, and the scenery is classic Adirondacks. Or take the short carry to Jones Pond and connect to the St. Regis Canoe area and the Saranac Lake Chain, which offer additional miles of scenic paddling.
It's only a short ride to the 1932 and 1980 Olympic venues in Lake Placid, and forty-six of the highest peaks in the Adirondacks Mountains, including world renown Whiteface Mountain. If you actually want to get in your car, sight-seeing and fine shopping is only a short driving distance.
Saranac Lake and Lake Placid offer numerous activities for the sports enthusiast and shopper alike to appreciate every season.
