... rooms have the original wood paneled walls, low ceilings with exposed beams. There are two fireplaces with original hearthstones. The walls are freshly painted and the floors newly re-finished. Heat is blown hot air. There are 2.5 bedrooms. The bright and sunny master bedroom has a canopied queen -sized bed. The second room is smaller, but also very airy and bright. It has a very comfortable Ikea twin day bed that rolls out to be king-size. The upstairs floors are freshly painted, in the old style. The third bedroom/study is downstairs, and has a twin cot. It has two wooden walls, low plaster ceiling, and original exposed corner post contrasting with two white plaster walls. All beds, mattresses and beddings are new.
Located on 28A, south of Thomas Landers Road, the house is about 2 miles from Chappaquoit and Silver Beaches, and 1 mile from West Falmouth Village center and West Falmouth Harbor. It's a short walk to Haland Stables, the Cardosa Public Preservation Lands and Bourne's Farm. The house has its own large partly wooded lawns where you can relax, BBQ and play. We welcome considerate guests who are looking for simplicity with that something extra in their vacation home, and who will enjoy our early American historic style.

We are about two miles from the nearest beaches, the beautiful and popular Silver Beach and Chappaquoit Beach. By the way, after Labor Day Weekend, all public beaches are free. If you want to leave the car home, we'll provide 2 basic adult bikes to get you there! [You'll want to rent or bring better quality bikes, if you choose to visit the gorgeous 20-mile Cape Cod Bike Path in Truro.] If you like horses, you'll love the trail rides at Haland Stables, a short walk from our property. The walk to West Falmouth Harbor is also a visual pleasure. You'll start on historic Old Main Road (28A), cut through the right-of-way, Cordwood Landing, and emerge from the woods with a beautful ocean vista before you. Then you'll continue left along the waterfront on Nashawena Street to the Harbor, or walk still further along the coast to Chappaquoit Beach.
Another lovely walk is through the Cardoza Preservation Trust Lands, across to the Bourne Farm Conservation Land. If you like, you can turn turn west to visit the cranberry bogs or hike through to Old Silver Beach. My favorite is the Shining Sea Bike Path that runs from Falmouth to Woods Hole - an idyllic place to roller blade, bike, jog, or walk your dog. You can stop in Woods Hole village for a treat at Pie in the Sky or coffee and a pastry at Coffee Obsession, before heading back. And finally you are just 5 or 7 miles from your choice of two ferries to Martha's Vineyard.
