The Estate
The Estate at Covehead Bay is much more than ‘another vacation home’ – the property is as compelling for its vast wooded 13-acre outdoor surroundings and amenities as it is for the luxurious interior of the house – the perfect setting for a special retreat with family and friends.
Children and adults alike will gravitate towards one of PEI’s only in-ground heated salt water pools fully augmented with a spiral slide, diving board and spacious deck with all the expected (and unexpected) outdoor furnishings. As you walk beyond the pool you’ll encounter one of several professionally maintained gardens that lead the way to Auld Creek which gently winds its way through the wooded property. The creek provides the perfect access into Covehead Bay (and the Gulf of St. Lawrence) for canoes, kayaks and motor boats. While much of the lands on the estate remain in their natural state with a collection of indigenous trees and shrubs, over an acre of meticulously manicured grass is ideal for activities ranging from bocce to croquet to volleyball.
Encapsulating the home is an expansive wrap-around deck (upper level) and patio (lower level), perfect for taking in the beautiful surroundings and entertaining after a day at play. This is made all the more enjoyable by the deluxe Vermont Casting stainless steel grill and deluxe outdoor furnishings. In winter, poolside fun and boating is replaced by exceptional snowmobiling, x-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing opportunities.
The House
The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom home is a rancher-style hillside bungalow with an exterior that possesses a sense of belonging to its natural landscape. Inside, the open floor plan highlights spectacular panoramic views across Covehead Bay and invites an abundance of natural light accented by the crisp, bright interior color selection.
Each room in the house has been thoughtfully decorated in keeping with the classic Maritime theme and blended with a French Country style to add a distinct flare. The natural red stone wood burning fireplace is a centerpiece of the upper level and provides a sense of place and further pulls the natural surroundings inside. A solid open plank wood staircase adds character and leads downstairs to a large recreation room featuring a wood burning stove that mixes past with present.
Special attention has also been paid to nighttime comfort. Luxurious spring coil mattresses, 600 thread count linens, and solid wood bed frames and drawers with an attractive antiqued finishing are standard in every bedroom.
Guest comfort and convenience are of paramount importance at the Estate. From the soft leather couches in the living room through to the patio furniture outdoors, comfort has not been compromised for cost. The Estate has also made sure that guests enjoy all of today’s modern conveniences including wireless high-speed Internet, high definition Satellite TV viewed on flat screen LCD monitors, stereo system and business center access.
Main Floor (Upper Level)
The main floor of the house features an open floor plan with a panoramic array of tower windows that invite natural light and provide stunning views across Covehead Bay. The main floor can be accessed through the garage (straight into the kitchen) or through the solid wood front entry door and contains the master sleeping quarters – thus making it ideal for older guests with limited mobility.
Living Room – The living room is the focal point of the main floor with a natural red stone wood burning fireplace, luxury leather sofa collection and 37” Flat Screen LCD TV with high definition Bell ExpressVu Satellite and DVD player.
Kitchen – The large kitchen is extensively appointed with all utensils and small appliances and includes the luxury of a Sub-Zero refrigerator, propane stove / oven, microwave and dishwasher.
Dining Room – Located directly off the kitchen, the large dining room table comfortably seats eight (8) and features spectacular views of the Bay. The dry bar in an eloquent touch and provides ample storage for china and fine place settings.
Master Bedroom and En-suite – The spacious master bedroom features a King-sized bed with two nightstands, LCD TV (Satellite), two separate dresser drawers, luxury recliner, vanity mirror, large walk-in closet with additional drawers and clothes racks, and a 4-pc en-suite bathroom with a large Jacuzzi soaker tub, stand-up shower and vanity.
