The Village of Paziols
Paziols is located in the Corbières district of Aude. This area of South West France, is set in the foothills of the Pyrennes, is close to the Mediterranean, and enjoys mild winters and hot summers.
Despite it's small size the village has a shop, a café, a restaurant, a post office and a park with a tennis court. Supermarkets and large shops can be found in Perpignan, about 40 kms away.
Restaurants There are many provincial style restaurants offering famous local French country cooking. There are many restaurants in Perpignan, just 30 minutes away from Paziols. Below is a list of our favorite restaurants, all within a 5-20 minute walk or drive of La Serre. The Vineyards Paziols is a quiet working village where most people are employed in the vineyards. It is perched on the side of a hill, its narrow streets winding up from the surrounding vineyards to the small church at the top. The vineyards produce several very good wines, including Corbières and Fitou.

For more challenging walks, hikes, and mountain biking trails, you can visit the Pyrenees Mountains that are located about an hour drive from Paziols.
The great medieval castles are a spectacular feature of the region. The Albigensian crusade against the Cathar heresy occurred in this region in the 13th century - a brutal and dramatic history which comes vividly to life among the castle ruins. The extraordinary walled city of Carcassonne, one of the most dramatic medieval sites of Europe, is only an hours drive away.
For the bird watcher and naturalist, the area has a wide variety of Mediterranean flowers, birds (flamingoes and egrets on the Etangs) and animals, including wild boar.
SwimmingWithin walking distance of La Serre, our local river, the Verdouble provides a beautiful and safe place for swimming and sunbathing.
As well, the Mediterranean is only 45 minutes drive away and it is littered with miles of sandy beaches. And, the Etangs, inland salt water lakes, are ideal for wind-surfing and sailing.
Rock ClimbingJust a twenty-five minute walk from La Serre, there is a small crag with 9 routes.
There are also cliffs around the the village of Vingrau. These extensive limestone crags offer an enormous variety of climbing - from long easy scrambles to hard modern routes.
Winter SportsIn the winter cross-country and downhill skiing, as well as snow-shoe (raquettes) walks, are available in these areas.

La Serre Vacation Rental Payment Methods Accepted
We are sorry but at this time, we do not accept credit cards. You can mail a euro or Canadian dollar money order to our address in Canada at 348 Quebec Avenue, Toronto, Ontario Canada M6P 2V3 or we can provide information so you can wire transfer the money directly into our French bank account.
Retainer.To secure your booking, you are required to pay a deposit in Euros of 50% of your total bill at the time you book your stay. This deposit is nonrefundable. The balance should be paid one month before you arrive at La Serre, unless other arrangements have been made.
Your deposit is non refundable.
Weekly accommodation includes full use of the kitchen, bedroom linens, towels, electric heating and cleaning services at the end of the stay. You are also more than welcome to use the wood-burning stove however, you are required to collect or purchase your own wood.
