 NOTE! Each floor level is private and self contained, with living, dining room, kitchen and separate entrance. The house design allows for each floor to be reserved for groups of 2 to 6 persons @ reduced rates. Contact the owner.

Campeche a fortress town, is 2 hours. Explore small villages, Colonial towns, cenotes (underground swimming pools),and remains of grand Hacienda's of a bygone Spanish era. Roads are good. Cancun, Cozumel and Mexican Riviera are 4 hour by toll road, about $30 by coach/bus.1000's of pink flamingos seen on local lagoons. FLIGHTS: Merida International Airport (MID) is 1.5 hr. flight from Houston, Mexico City or Miami and approximately 6.5 hrs from Los Angeles.

TIP: Fly into Cancun for cheaper flights and then take an air conditioned coach into Merida (4 hours, $30/person), or rent a vehicle in Cancun.

Chicxulub is the site of the asteroid impact that reputably, caused the demise of the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago. 1,000's of pink flamingos nest in local lagoons sanctuaries. Cancun, Cozumel and the Mexican Riviera are about 4 hour drive (220 km east), on very good roads. Mayan sites and ruins abound on the Yucatan Peninsula. CASTILLO NICTE HA Villa is centrally located to many of them. Chichen Itza, Uxmal, Campeche and Mayapan sites are about 1.5 hour drive. Dzibilchaltun is only 20 minute drive. Local English speaking tour guides and drivers. Explore small villages, colonial towns, Haciendas. Swim in cenotes, (subterranean caves). Fine dine at Hacienda's. Visit ruins and remnants of a bygone Spanish cultural era. Fishing trips can be arranged.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: Most theater, concerts and events are free in Merida. Obtain tickets in person at four fine old theaters in Merida, Yucatan's capital city. Merida, has a colorful history, wonderful food and has a historic town center with four grand theaters with many adjacent, charming restaurants for indoor and outdoor dining, before and after the theater trips.

A wonderful Cathedral, the oldest on the American mainland, is worth a visit in the Merida central plaza, where students and musicians congregate nightly. Street shows/dancing weekly. Many night clubs and activities, all within a few central blocks. The Mayan Museum and a wide variety of places to shop and dine make this wonderful treasure of a city worth a visit.

Folklorico and other dances and concerts take place weekly on Sundays and Monday evenings in the main plaza.

Our local guides can take you off the beaten path to places for memories you will not forget. How about a 7 mile horse drawn rail cart trip that stops at three swimmable underground Cenotes, 1/2 hr at each. Crystal clear water, cool but not cold.
