The snow sculptures will be left for viewing through Feb 5th. Teams from around the world compete in this eye-pleasing event, creating mammoth works of art from 12-feet tall, 20-ton blocks of snow. The sculptors work during the week, reshaping the bounty of Mother Nature into freeform whimsy or spellbinding intricacy. Well-known artists act as judges for the event, which has brought sculptors from as far away as Morocco, Belize, Japan, Canada, Scandinavia, Russia, China and Wales. Sculptures will be available to view as long as they hold out or through February 6. Check out the pictures at: Snow Sculpture Championships.
