Rock Haul is a 6 bedroom, 3 bath lakefront log home on 3 levels on the eastern edge of the Lake, which accommodates up to 12 people very comfortably. It features a dock slip for one boat at a community dock just a short distance from the front door. It is located on a lovely wooded lot with a view of the lake from the large covered porch on the main floor. The lower level features 2 bedrooms (king and 2 twins), a recreation room with woodstove, and a bath. The main level consists of a large living room, dining room, kitchen, bath, and the covered porch. DockWood Stove

During the winter, we offer cross county ski weekend packages at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, including room and board, ski equipment rental, lessons, and guided trips for groups of about 10-12 people. Accommodations are at Rock Haul from Friday evenings through Sunday afternoon. Meals are provided Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch.

Ski lessons begin Saturday morning after breakfast, during which you will get used to the equipment and learn the basics of cross county skiing. After a hearty lunch, you will go out on the trails to practice your newly learned skills. We will go to beautiful Harrington Manor, Swallow Falls or Deep Creek Lake State Parks for the afternoon session. You will return to relax before being served dinner. The evenings are free, and we often get a game of hearts or yatzee, or pigs going. Sunday after breakfast we plan a morning trip based on the conditions and the interest and skill of the group. Often, we ski on frozen Deep Creek Lake, which is a different experience, or we may go on another trail trip. After lunch is served, most depart for home, or you may stay a few hours to practice your skills.

We prefer to work with those that have a group formed - from work, school, club, or family get together, but will schedule open groups as well. The cost is very reasonable at $75 per person and includes everything. All you have to do is to get to Rock Haul at beautiful Deep Creek Lake. Families are encouraged and may qualify for discounts. Once a reservation is made, 1/3 -1/2 of the rental amount is due within two weeks to hold your reservation. Final payment should arrive no later than 3 weeks before your vacation to allow for keys to mailed to you. Keys and check-in package will mailed upon receipt of final payment + security deposit. You should either mail back keys or leave in unit, as instructed. New renters are charged a $200 security deposit that is returned if no damages or extra cleaning charges are assessed. The deposit may be waived for repeat customers with no prior charges. If you must cancel a reservation, we will attempt to rerent the unit. If successful, your deposit will be returned; if not, it will be forfeited. If you must reschedule, we will attempt to find another date, if possible. Checkout time is 10 AM on the morning of departure and check-in time is after 4 PM on the afternoon of arrival to allow proper cleaning and maintenance of the unit.
