LocationRangeview Ranch is located in the heart of Canadian cattle country. Twenty minutes outside of Cardston, Alberta, we are 270 km (168 miles) due south of Calgary and 20 km (12.5 miles) north of the US border.
Nestled at the top of the Milk River Ridge in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the property offers spectacular views of the renowned range to the West and endless views of the prairie plain to the East.
We are within a half hour drive to Waterton Lakes National Park.
Horseback Riding
Though there are lots of things to do at Rangeview, the main focus for guests is horseback riding. Young or old, experienced or novice, it doesn't matter. Your guides, Roger and Cody, are experienced cowboys who will show you a great time. There's no head to tail' riding found here: there are miles and miles of open plain so every rider has a chance to see EVERYTHING!
The horses are calm, even-tempered and responsive. There are mounts for all abilities with well-maintained tack.
If you're lucky, you may be at Rangeview for a full moon which often means a moonlight ride. Incomparable!

Just how long can you trot carrying an egg on a spoon? How far can you and a partner ride holding a string of toilet paper - before it breaks? These are just a couple of the horse games' you can play!
Cattle Work
Rangeview is a working cattle ranch. You want to be a cowboy? This is your chance. If you'd like to go beyond recreational riding, there are plenty of ranch chores with which you can help. Depending on the season, there's branding, calving, tagging and numerous other tasks. And there's ALWAYS a need to move cattle from one field to another - a mini City Slickers' for any rider!

Rangeview's patriarch, Mel Thomson, breeds some of the finest horses in Alberta.You're always welcome to watch the training and help with some of the day-to-day tasks.
Tubing
If it's time to rest your butt' or you want a break from riding, there's nothing like a leisurely float' down the Milk River in an inner tube. Just relax, enjoy the refreshing water and let the river flow do all the work!

Off the ranch, there are a number of interesting sites close to Rangeview.
In Cardston, there are a number of places to visit, including the Remington Carriage Museum and the Mormon Temple. Further a field, Lethbridge offers a bit more shopping, etc.
If time allows, a visit to renowned Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump offers an incomparable look at First Nations history and Waterton Lakes National Park is recognized as a World Heritage Site with wonderful day hiking possibilities.
