A classic wonderfully kept by my grandparents who never grew tired chatting with their guests out on the deck in the evening to watch a deep red sun, set into the Gulf of Mexico. You can't get any closer to the water. Walk out your door and you're on the beach. Kids love it. And Disney is an hour and a half drive.
OUR UNIQUE AND SPECIAL LOCATION:We're located in The Narrows, the skinniest and most beautiful spot on the 12 mile string of barrier islands off the coast of Tampa Bay between Clearwater and St Petersburg Beach. Most of our neighbors live in new million dollar homes. We offer our guests a true island setting, with the emerald waters of the Gulf to the West and to our East is Boca Ciega Bay and the yachts going up and down the Intracoastal boat channel.
Plenty to do on a vacation. Or just relax and go beachcombing in the early morning tides. Kids go shelling with mask and snorkel and dive for sand dollars and cockle shells at low tide out on our shallow sandbar, an easy wade 50 foot off the beach. The Town claims this is Florida's safest beach on its entry monuments. We are private and on the quite side, ideal for a simple, relaxing get-away. Bring your tackle and do some fishing on the piers in the area or rent a boat or jet-ski in town. Home of Crabby Bills, the best seafood restaurant on the Sun Coast with the catch brought straight in from the fishing boats. Sit with the locals, family style, at a large picnic table and try a plate of stone crabs. Or visit Jimmy Iguanas waterfront bar for some night life and dancing to steel drums.
What we offer:The four vacation units in the large house and two units in the carriage house are arranged around a parking area like a private estate. Rent the whole place out for a special occasion if you book far enough in advance (one week minimum). It sleeps 22. Winters are busy with repeat guests so book early. Lots of inside photos on our website (please click on the link below) and a great view from an ultralight flight that my kids treated me to for my birthday.
Many renovations to make your stay in on our Beach a comfortable one. Premium pillow-top beds, traditional wicker furniture, full kitchens, wireless internet, DVD players. History buffs will love the 100 year old red heart pine floors in #6, and extra large original float glass windows that have managed to weather 83 years of hurricanes. Lots to see and explore. Just bring your towel (or we give you a big thirsty one by Ralph Lauren as a gift in the Fall if you stay a week or more).
Enjoy what is becoming a rare vacation place on the beach. Book a room in Old Florida from the summer of 1925.
Wes and Kathy, third generation owners.
FYI:Because we care, we belong to the Superior Small Lodging Program.

I'll let them explain the benefit to you, the guest.
The 400 members in Florida subscribe to the most rigorous inspection system in American hospitality. Our lodgings are inspected not just on safety and cleanliness but on how thoroughly our innkeeper knows about the vicinity and how well they put you in touch. These innkeepers are in the old tradition. They live at their inns or close by. They're local experts. They're typically involved in preserving their vicinities' natural, heritage and cultural resources. They shower guests with hospitality not because it's their 9-to-5 job but because it's their way of life.
