The City of Gulfport is a historic, artistic, and quaint small town situated on a stretch of beach (Boca Ciega Bay) and is tucked between St. Petersburg and St. Petersburg Beach. The City is on the central west coast of Florida and is home to 1,500 licensed businesses, entrepreneurs, inns, artisans, European-style restaurants with optional outdoor seating and boutique shops, reminiscent of Carmel, California.

The accommodations, Boca Beach Bungalow, is located in the heart of the Gulfport Waterfront district and is walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, library, the live theatre, bars, entertainment and community center.

Gulfport is close to St. Petersburg, Tampa, Sarasota, Clearwater, shopping, and is about 30 minutes from Tampa Airport.

Whether from your expansive exterior balcony or your living room inside, you can see out over Gulfport's own white powdery sand beach and the entire bay to the lights of the inter-coastal keys, the string of islands that make the Gulf Coast so picturesque, on the other side.

If you like privacy and deserted white beach, stay right here in town your whole visit. It's quiet, has a complete range of restaurants for every palate and wallet, yet comes to life at the other end, at O'Maddy's at night, a great bar & grill with outdoor dining like many restaurants here, but also with karaoke nightly. If you pick the right Friday night, it will be art-walk night, with bands outside and street vendors.

If you like lots of people, it's only a few minutes to the intra-coastal beaches that include the famous TV /#1 Countdown/ expansive sands of Ft. Desoto to the south, and crowded Clearwater Beach to the north, with its popular after-dark nightly craft and street-artist shows. You are truly right between the two, and might get sidetracked on many other wonderful beaches trying to get to either one!

Boca Beach Bungalows has three Gulfport vacation units, two up and one down, all with beach views. All are tastefully decorated, fully furnished with full-sized kitchens. The /Boca Grande/ is the largest, an airy 2 bedroom, one bath unit with an incredible wrap-around balcony. The other two units are one bedroom, one bath rentals and are the /Boca View/ and /Boca Chica/ and also have downstairs wrap-around balconies. The /Boca View/ is a mid-size apartment and sleeps 4. The smallest unit, the /Boca Chica/ is a small, but adorable one bedroom. All are furnished with comfort in mind.

/Mountain biking/ means just off-road biking, I think, with a mountain bike, and has nothing to do with mountains. Same with hiking. Ft. DeSoto area has many miles of both and the Pinellas Country trail is about fifty miles of off-road biking, jogging, etc., and it cuts through N. Gulfport, just on the other side of Boca Ciega High School (58th Street and about 9th South), you can go on it to St. Pete College here, or all the way up to Tarpon Springs.
