If outdoor activities are what you are looking for on a vacation then staying at River Meadows Summer Home on PEI is the place for you. For golfers, it is a dream come true, as three of Canada's top golf courses are within a ten to thirty minute drive. There are 26 golf courses located across the Island. Golf might be number one, but hiking, boating, kayaking, shopping, deep-sea fishing, windsurfing, bird watching, theatre and sightseeing are close behind and you are only minutes away from beaches. The Confederation hiking and biking trail stretches from one end of the Island to the other, and its hard packed surface and grades of 2% or less on the reclaimed railway line makes for great walking or biking.
If you like to place a few dollars on the ponies then you will enjoy the Summerside Lobster Carnival and the running of the Governors Plate or Charlottetown for Old Home Week and the highly coveted race for the Gold Cup and Saucer. Both feature a full race card for both afternoons and evenings for about ten days. We are 15 minutes from the Canada Games of 2009 sites on Prince Edward Island.
You can watch the sunrise while enjoying your morning coffee on the deck or at night you can enjoy the quiet of the country where you can look at the stars and listen to the sounds of nature while enjoying a glass of wine.

This home offers large open concept living area with cathedral ceiling and 3 bedrooms: 1 queen bed, 1 double, and 1 twin + double bed/pullout in bonus room.
The spacious dining room sits eight and has a large Island for extra seating. The Living/Media Room with leather furniture has surround sound for your comfort and enjoyment.
Also, in the bonus room, there are 2 couches, one which is a pull -out double bed, television and a Playstation 2 game, along with lots of other toys, games and movies to keep the children entertained.
You can enjoy some adult time while the children are playing.
The back deck has a patio table that seats six where you can enjoy a family BBQ or a romantic dinner. There is also two loungers to enjoy the sun in or to sit and read. The front deck has a bistro table and two chairs to enjoy while having your morning coffee or a glass of wine.
