My husband and I just returned from a great vacation at Casa des Las Caras. It always makes me a little nervous when arriving at a vacation rental not knowing if the photos were an accurate depiction of the unit, but in this case the Condo was better than we envisioned-The photos did not do it justice! It is a perfect layout for two couples or a large family as it is very spacious with each bedroom having its own private bath. There is a beautiful heated pool and hot tub right outside the door not to mention a gorgeous view. The location couldn’t be better –no car is needed. Taxis are readily available but we took the bus, which stops right in front of the building, along with many other tourists and Mexicans alike. The fare was 7 Pesos (roughly 53 cents) for a 15 minute trip into town. It was fun, convenient and provided some local flavor. The bus will also take you South to places like the village of Boca de Tomatlan where you can get a water taxi for about $10.00 round trip to visit other villages along the coast. The grounds are well maintained and the building staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all a great place to spend a vacation.
