We had the pleasure of staing at the Orchid Tree, and even though it was only for one night it was one of the best experiences we have ever had at a B&B! Su and Steve are wonderful, both very interesting and a wealth of information. The accomodation is fabulous and is accented with the fabulous views out over Hilo Bay. The livingroom, dining room and jacuzzi are in a large open-air lanai that is attached to the large spacious rental unit. We spent most of our time out in the open-air room and loved the fresh air, watching a the rain roll in from the ocean and the conversation with our hosts. Honolii Beach is only a few minutes walk and offers very nice surf, be it bodysurfing, boogieboarding or boarding and Steve, an avid surfer himself, has quite the array of surfboards which are available for use. The breakfast was amazing, fresh friut, yoghurt, cereal, etc.. all prepared and displayed so beautifully that we took pictures before we enduldged. Hilo town is a great town with a reborn historic downtown and a fabulous farmer's market that takes place twice a week. There are so many things to do in and around Hilo that you would need a few months to explore the surface. Highly recommended and we know that we will return and book earlier so that we can stay more than one night. Thanks again Su and Steve and Hilo for making our trip so special! We will be contacting you soon to book our stay for next year! Mahalo!! Jeff, Nancy and Zane Fullmer
