Less than 2 hours and only 70 miles from Denver - Granby Ranch is in the center of everything. There are lots of fun things to do here - this is a four season home. Golf the Headwaters Course as well as other challenging mountain courses within 15 miles. Reserve your own private stretch of the famous gold medal Fraser River and fish for trout. Get out there and hike the many trails of Rocky Mountain National Park. Rent a mountain bike and fly down the bike trails. Visit Hot Sulphur Springs and sample over 20 hot springs. Rent a boat and spend a lazy day on nearby Grand Lake or Lake Granby.
We have had lots of snow this year - it's time to book for the 2010 winter ski season. Solvista Resort saw great snow conditions in 2009. December thru March were heavily booked. Solvista Resort is a great place for families and friends. The resort opens in Mid December and runs through end of March. For more experienced skiers/boarders, there are plenty of intermediate and advanced runs. Winter Park. Mary Jane offer more challenges - both resorts are just 15 minutes away. Winter Park opens in late November & closes in mid April.
We are located right in the Granby Ranch/Solvista Ski Resort. The ski school offers a Guaranteed to Ski program...One day of lessons and you are skiing or boarding! Let the kids go out on their own. All runs converge together at the base of the mountains. This home is less than a quarter mile to the parking area/lifts.
Granby Ranch/Solvista is tops for mountain biking with extensive trail systems. There is a summer fun area for kids - including a climbing wall and other cool things to do. Rest at the lodge and watch the fun unfold on the mountain. Unwind in your own private hot tub while looking at the Colorado stars & night sky.
In the fall, the mountains are just gorgeous. The Aspens turn gold , the days are cooler and the trails are open and uncrowded. It's a wonderful time to visit the area and tour Rocky Mountain National Park. The towns of Grand Lake, Granby & Winter Park offer unique shops, art galleries and restaurants. A large Safeway grocery store is convenient for day to day supplies.
Play outside and take a break for lunch. Our home is cozy - There are two full size leather sofas, ottoman, recliner and chaise lounge. Snuggle up with the sofa throws, turn on the gas fireplace and enjoy our big LCD TV. Bring the laptop if you choose as there is broadband internet access. Cook gourmet meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Crockpot, toaster, blender, pots & pans, skillets, dishes - you name it - it's here. This is our home away from home too.
The master suite with king bed is on the second floor. There are two bedrooms located downstairs along with a full bath. The second master suite offers a queen bed and features sliding doors to the covered patio/hot tub area. The guest room has a queen bed with extra-long twin bunk. There is an aerobed sofa sleeper in the great room as well. All linens are supplied. There are comforters with duvets, blankets, sheets & towels....all affording a very comfortable stay. Our home is very quiet and peaceful - there are no trains in the vicinity. The Winter Park trains run on the other side of the mountain range.
