Several near by amenities include golfing, trout fishing (trout farms nearby), horseback riding, or enjoy a music and folk festival held in the quaint town square or live theater throughout the year.
Day trips include whitewater rafting on the Nantahala and famous Deliverance film sight on the Ocoee River, shopping and dining in Historic Alphine Village in Helen, Georgia, or river tubing, Smoky Mountain Railway, Cherokee Indian Reservation Casino and snow skiing and tubing at Maggie Valley. World Famous Ruby Falls, Rock City and Chattanooga, Tennessee, just two hours.
