Description & Details of The Desert Lilly Bed and Breaktfeast
Just five minutes to the west entrance of the scenic, rugged and surreal Joshua Tree National Park.

Three artist-embellished guest rooms with private baths and individual entryways from the covered patio, two private sitting rooms set away from the B&B Adobe into the desert landscape.

With its spectacular panoramic views, The Desert Lily is a peaceful and delight-filled place to experience all that this high desert wonderland has to offer.

The B&B is surrounded by desert foliage and creatures of all descriptions. Be warned: stay away from cacti, but be sure to listen for the music of coyotes and to observe the quail families, lizards, jackrabbits, tortoises and other creatures that call this desert home. In the stillness of dawn, greet the day by watching the rising sun softly color everything, from mountain to sky, in a pink and orange glowing light. Invisibly, the desert wind picks up. It interacts and magically brings the sculpture garden to life… each sculpture's distinctive movement mirrors the shifting nature of the wind and environment. Admire the hummingbirds flitting and swooping about in their desert garden that is surprisingly lush and fragrant when full of springtime blossoms.

Depending on when you are here, spend your evening gazing at the brilliant starry sky or bathe in the intense desert moonlight that turns night to day. You may want to curl up in the hammock and dream of other worlds, or sip port beside a fire in the great room. The weather in the high desert is cooler than in Palm Springs, only 40 miles away in the low desert. Fall is delightful with warm days and cool evenings. Winter is a wonderful time to do outdoor activities that might be too strenuous for very warm days. The spring season is glorious with the desert abloom. And... the sun is almost always shining.

Hiking, rock climbing and horseback riding are extraordinary experiences in this rock-strewn, mountainous desertland. We can offer suggestions about the most interesting places to visit inside and outside of the park, including a magnificent orchid farm; Pioneertown that was built by Roy Rogers and Gene Autry for making those old time westerns; a wonderful artist's outdoor sculpture studio; a real live drive-in movie; unique area shops and antique stores.

If you would enjoy an amazing desert massage or spa treatment, that too can be arranged. Sound baths are available at the “world famous” Integratron. And, private or group “Nightsky Narrations” can be arranged on site, as no trip to the desert is complete without spending a few hours gazing at the night sky. We are happy to recommend a selection of local restaurants, as well as direct you to the local music scene.

Each room has an individual entry from the covered patio, private bath, chiminea, queen-sized bed and has been uniquely hand embellished and decorated to create a relaxed but sophisticated desert experience for guests. There are no televisions or phones, however you can request use of the residence phone or connect to the Internet using our wireless network. All rooms are nonsmoking. Two private sitting rooms with a CD player, books and magazines are nestled into the desert landscape.

Gourmet breakfast is served to your patio table (weather permitting) or in the great room of the main residence. Your meal will be as delicious to the eye as it is to your palate. And the freshly baked homemade cookies are not to be missed. Please let us know if you have unique dietary concerns. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a selection of wine are always available.
