Whether you are looking for a quiet stay with the sound of the ocean as the only distraction, or whether you want to meet people from all over the world, the Inn at the Cape is your best first stop on your Newfoundland vacation.

The Inn is at Cape St. George, on the tip of the scenic Port au Port Peninsula. It is a short 2 and half hour drive from the ferry terminal at Port aux Basques or the airport at Deer Lake.

The “Inn” has 14 rooms, all with ensuite baths, queen size beds, cable TV, high-speed wireless internet and in room coffee makers and phones. Most have air conditioning and their own deck overlooking the best whale watching in the province.

As befits an Inn that overgrew its origins as a bed and breakfast, it offers exceptional value. Not only is a full breakfast included in the modest rates, but a buffet supper is as well. Our guests find the supper a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world. It is over supper that guests at the end of their vacation trade notes with those about to start their vacation.

Many guests are so happy with their stay that they return after they see the rest of the province.

The Inn at the Cape started out as Cape St. George B&B in the summer of 2002. By offering high quality rooms, both supper and breakfast, along with extensive amenities the B&B quickly overran its four rooms and suites. In 2004 the owners built a new building father up Garden Hill. The new building has 9 very large rooms all with air conditioning and full baths. Each room has queen size beds, cable TV, in room coffee machines and telephones.

In the evening, guests can enjoy the buffet supper that always includes several entrees. After supper guests can enjoy a walk on the headlands, a dip in the hot tub, or a quiet drive over the mountain. The sunset at Boutte du Cap park is not to be missed.

Yet these first class amenities come at a reasonable price. Double occupancy in the new building is $119 a night, $89 for single occupancy and meals are complementary. Additional guests in the same room are $15 extra. For families there is a two room suite available for $160 a night.

Confirmed reservations can be canceled up to three days prior to the reservation date without penalty. If for some reason you cannot make the reservation date because of ferry or airplane delays, there is no charge for cancellations.
