If you have not seen the great lakes you will be very surprised. With Lake Michigan sparkling blue/green color and unending views you will feel like you are on the Carribean Sea. The town of Beaver Island boasts many shops, museums and restaurants. Everything from burger stands to fine dining Beaver has it all without the hustle and bustle of a tourist trap. The ferry is large and comfortable and can carry your car/truck across (reservation necessary). The trip is approximately 2 hours long as the Island is 30 miles off the coast of Charlevoix, Michigan. You will love Beaver Island as it's residents are mostly Irish desendents (500 year round)and provide entertainment at least every weekend night if not more often at the Islands many pubs.
