The property is in the heart of Venasque, one of the prettiest fortified cliff-hanging hilltop villages on the northern outskirts of the Plateau de Vaucluse, the wild and beautiful northern portion of the Luberon. As this village is off the tourist trail it has a wonderful local charm.

Venasque has a baker's shop, a grocery store and several restaurants which also double up as cafés and two small hotels.

There is a 6th century Baptistery to see. The village offers an ideal base for exploring Vaucluse with its vineyards and Roman history.

For more serious shopping and their famous weekly markets, the pretty villages of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (antiques) and Pernes-les-Fontaines and the town of Carpentras are within 30 minutes drive from Venasque.

Mont Ventoux, Avignon, Orange and Aix-en-Provence are an hour's drive.
