This period property was built in 1814 set on its own grounds.It perfectly located in central ireland. This former rectory was also the birthplace of the famous astronomer Charles jasper Joly who was born in 1864. It is in its original form. It has four large double/family rooms with period features and one single room. There is a charming winding staircase, three large reception rooms with comfy couches,, large airy kitchen with cosy solid fuel/range. The house is bright and spacious. There is a large BBQ/patio area to the rear off the kitchen. The garden has some lovely mature trees. The winding entrance driveway is also lined with trees. The house is within walking distance to local supermarkets, shops, bars and leisure centre. Two excellent local golf courses & Fishing nearby.Local Historic: Charleville Castle, a great gothic structure located one mile to the west of Tullamore town on the Birr road. Charleville Castle is situated in the centre of the last forest in all of Ireland . The forest is filled with 700/1000 year old oaks,birches & Copper Beach trees that are absolutely amazing. There are walks through the forests and the family run tours in the castle daily. The forest is a public right of way down to the river. Annaharvey Farm & Equestrian Centre in Tullamore caters for every leavel the cross country course is excellent with galloping through the water, lovely trecks through the countryside. Tullamore Dew & Heritage Centre by Burgh Quay in the town, has exhibition centre and covers the history of the town, with whiskey tasting. It is home of the worlds second favourite whiskey. The heritage centre is located in the beautifully restored Bonded Warehouse built on the banks of the grand canal in 1897, guided tours available. Esker Hills Golf Club is excellent. local attractions: Within a short drive is Lockes Distillery Museum Kilbeggan, the oldest working pot still distillery in ieland, join the guided tours & enjoy a break in the cafe. Lockes Distillery has much history and is located by the river brosna just 15/20 mins drive from the town of Tullamore. Take a trip to Birr Castle & Demesne & see the historic Birr Telescope.Visit Rahan, 8KM west of Tullamore, visit the ruins of the historic churches with their romanesque carvings or take the canal walk from rahan into tullamore. Visit historical Durrow Abbey 7km north of Tullamore. Activitiesin tullamore, include Jumping Jacks 10K sq feet multi level play area for kitds, with bowling alleys, air hockey, computer games. & more including cafe for parents. Clay pigeon shooting/paint balling/ within 30mins drive. There is an array of resturants, which serve the famous tullamore sausages. There are also quaint irish pubs, visit the town park. Take a stroll to the new leisure centre & Fitness Club, or to the local shops.

There are also a no of equestrian centres within a short drive which cover all levels of activity including cross country rideouts. There are lovely walks & cycle paths. The house is close to foodmarket and pharmacy. There is Paintballing and claypidgeon shooting a short drive from the property also.
