The first Saturday of the month, Irvington hosts a wonderful Farmer's Market in the town square (yes, you can walk there as well!) An open air market featuring farm fresh produce and meats, crafts, plants, and something for everyone. There are other markets in nearby towns as well.
Two miles to the east is the wonderful town of White Stone. Stop in at White Stone Wine and Cheese, Seven -- a sinful Martini bar, or shop for fashionable clothes and accessories at Farm. Take scenic Windmill Point Road to Charlie's Tiki Bar and enjoy drinks and watch the sunset of the Chesapeake Bay.
Kilmarnock, VA is about a seven minute drive. There are great high end and casual restaurants there as well: Town Bistro, Roses Steak and Seafood, Thai Pot, Carried Away Cuisine, Savannah Joe's Barbeque, and The Car Wash Cafe. Great antique stores, upscale shopping and RAL -- the Rappahannock Art League Gallery are all worth a visit.
The Northern Neck is known for it's festivals, parades and events. All summer long there are things to do and see. The Fourth of July features local small town parades with vintage cars and fire engines. The Irvington Parade goes right by the house.
We are new to vacation rentals and are in the process of addring more furniture, etc. Please check back soon for new photos and information.
Plan a trip to our house and let the stress melt away!
