3F., No.94-3, Liouguei Rd,
Dali City,
Taichung County
412, Taiwan (R.O.C.)

Taichung is a thriving metropolis at the heart of Taiwan, a fantastic place to jump off the plane to experience the real soul of this heart-warming country. Discover Taichung city, it's night markets, art museum, shopping districts and nightlife. More importantly treat Taichung as a great starting point for seeing some of Taiwan's most remarkable sights including: Lugang (40 mins), Puli (50 mins), Sun Moon Lake (1 hour), Changhwa Buddha (30 mins), Sanyi (30 mins) or perhaps the giddy heights of Mount Hehuan Shan (3300m 2hrs). Central Taichung can be reached directly in 10-15 minutes by bus from the bus stop outside the apartment.

Your room here includes a double bed with new mattress in a separate guest bedroom with air conditioning, a wardrobe, full length mirror, patio doors, wall fan, bedside fan, bedside light, alarm clock and own bathroom just outside the door. The adjoining living room also has air conditioning and a sofa bed, too. The owner has a separate bathroom, so that one is all yours to use. Your bedroom contains full information on things to do around Taichung, guides to help you get around with attached Chinese, local maps (with Chinese) to help direct Taxi/bus drivers if you don't speak the local lingo and even adapters to manage your appliances when you arrive.

Apartment is clean and located in the ‘suburb' area of Dali City, Taichung, about 15 mins by bus from the central train station or 5 mins from a taxi stand. If you can call before hand, I can either meet you at the train station or HSR or at the very least I can provide directions for a taxi or meet you if needed. I work near home so I'll be on hand should you need help in Taiwan. There's a taxi stand around the corner from the apartment as well as a local company nearby so finding a taxi is a piece of cake. For cat lovers, there are also two lovely cats draped at random around the living room for to interact with as they see fit! :)

Local area is a traditional, safe one, with locals oft burning incense to ward off ghosts and children out playing in the street. It has a happy, civil, warming atmosphere that I've never tired of over the years I've lived here. While here, please feel free to wander around the local vegetable markets, nearby night markets, temples or get lost down some of Dali's many back roads...

The apartment has Wi-Fi in all the rooms, cable TV and cooking utensils if you wish to cook. All details are given on a noticeboard on the wall of your bedroom. There's a nice large refrigerator stocked with mineral water for your stay and with plenty of room to store fresh and frozen produce in a fully functional kitchen. If you need anything else, I'll do my best to buy it in. In case of extra guests, there's a sofa bed too.

When you check in please press # then dial 9403 on the buzzer and I'll buzz you in. If you have any problems just ask the guard at the door to assist you. He's really friendly and been there as long as the building I think!

If you like biking, there's a mountain bike free for use in the apartment. Alternatively, road-worthy mountain bikes can be hired at a nearby Giant Store for use on one of many bike trails around Taichung. There's an excellent ride along the river just through Dali that winds into the misty mountains beyond...

For hiking, Dakeng isn't too far away and can be reached by taking the fongyuan bus service. Dakeng offers 10 trails from the infamous 'monkey' trail to the more sedate 'garden' trails - recently rennovated. These can all get pretty crowded on the weekend, so week days are best recommended for visiting them.

Some other nearby hiking trails include:

1. Taking the Fongyuan bus service out to the Toubiankeng Bat Cave and the biking/hiking bonanza around there.
