Awesome Mountain Getaway! Since this year was a warm winter in Georgia, and my parents came into town from Chicago to visit their grandchildren, I rented this cabin for four nights for the whole family in January over MLK weekend. There was more than enough space for the six of us, and it was sunny enough to go outside and explore the river. My kids (2 and 4) liked the heated pool, the games at the rec center, and looking for deer and wild turkeys. My parents enjoyed the hot tub, and the view from the upper deck overlooking the river is also pretty impressive. In addition, while the house does have three stories, there is an elevator for anyone who has issues getting up and down the stairs. The cabin layout is very open, but there are plenty of places to read or nap in peace as well. The town of Elijay has lots of charm and is worth spending some time in, although most nights we just grilled out at home for dinner. My only complaint is that we got lost trying to find the cabin once inside the gate. The road signs are marked, but it is better to come in the day time if you can. At night, it was tricky to find

Great Cabin! We had a fantastic family time over a long weekend. We had lots of room for the 7 of us. We enjoyed the scenery and weather. The cabin is first class and very well decorated. We enjoyed fishing in the river and taking some vigorous walks around the mountain.

Forth of July at Pappy's My family and my sisters family spent the week of July 4th at Pappy's cabin. We had a great time. The cabin is beautiful. Even though we had a week of rain, the cabin was big enough that we were able to spread out. There was plenty of space for 8 people. There is a great view of the river from the decks and we spent hours enjoying being outside. We also ventured down the stairs to the river to play when the rain let up. We went into Ellijay and explored the shops and had a nice dinner at JJs on the river. Inside the resort we enjoyed the indoor pool and putt-putt(between rain showers). Pappy and Mrs Pappy were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Relaxing Memorial Day Weekend for Everyone! I found Pappy's Southern Comfort by chance late one night and emailed him with an inquiry for our stay. I had a response first thing early in the morning and was sold on the place as soon as I spoke to him on the phone. Pappy was very helpful on the phone and even more enjoyable in person when I met him! The cabin itself is exactly what you see in the pictures. You will be amazed at all the antiques, quilts, baskets, collectibles and knick knacks. It was fun to just stand there and admire them all! We had kids ranging from the age of 5 to 10 and they were fine with not touching anything. There is a lot of glass and tools in the "man cave" basement, but you will have to supervise accordingly. The bedrooms were spacious; bathrooms absolutely clean and luxurious; and the marble kitchen was amazing! The entire cabin fit two families with kids and there was plenty of room! All 3 decks were utilized and that's where we spent most our time relaxing with our friends and celebrating 2 birthdays. The river was cold and an adventure to get to due to the number of steps. Adults need a breather half way up, but the kids zoomed right up! Absolutely beautiful down by the river with a campfire too. We are definitely going back to Pappy's and would recommend this wonderful cabin to anyone looking for a place that feels like home. Pappy is wonderful to work with and the cabin is one of a kind!

"Amazing Secluded Getaway!! " My wife and I got what we were hoping for and much more! The cabin is located in the most serene, picturesque setting standing almost alone surrounded by nature. It was perfect for a romantic weekend away, but just the same we can't wait to go back with our children! As promised the cabin was warm and Inviting and even smelled really good! The cabin was very accommodating with clean bedding, a well stocked refrigerator as well as cabinets that we were encouraged to use as we wanted. The bedrooms, bathrooms, family room and kitchen were clean, neat and nicely decorated. Although my lovely wife and I were away from home, the feel of the cabin was very homey and comfortable. The views from the decks and patios were breathtaking and the walk down to the river was a terrific, fun adventure in the falling rain. We did not use the hotub this time, but are happy to know it's there for our next trip! The only downside about our trip was that we did not get to glimpse any wildlife during game our stay. My wife and I are looking forward to coming back for another getaway as soon as we can, but are also anxious to bring the children to enjoy it as well. Thank you again Mr and Mrs Pappy for a wonderful anniversary weekend getaway! Hope to be back soon, Yours in Health, John
