Nestled in the rolling checkered hills of the Shenandoah Valley, an area rich in Virginia history, is the historic1852 heart-of-pine farmhouse build by Jacob Swartz for his new bride Lucinda Zirkle. The Swartz family home and Jacob's converted cobbler shop, the only available Bed and Breakfast lodging, stand peacefully at the end of a tree shaded country lane overlooking the Shenandoah River's North Fork.

Steeped in history this historic house was well documented by Jacob; from building costs to items pillaged by Federal troops under the command of General George Armstrong Custer.

A full breakfast is served at your leisure in the main house, on your own river-bluff terrace (weather permitting) or a tray left at the cottage door. Breakfast consists of juice, seasonal fruit, and an egg entree such as omelets, eggs Benedict, German popover pancakes, Belgian waffles or stuffed French toast. A picnic lunch, perfect for meandering through the lush Shenandoah Valley and rolling mountains, may be arranged with your reservation.

Please, come linger awhile and discover what Virginia's Shenandoah Valley has to offer in scenic beauty, historic lore and holiday recreation. If time permits we'll keep you busy for days.
