The house was built in 1881 by the famous Powell Clayton, first governor of Arkansas after the Civil War, a former US Senator and later, an Ambassador to Mexico.
The Loop is the only street the trolleys roam in the Historic District. You can amble to town in a few minutes past parks and springs or hop on the trolley by our door. Watch all of the parades right from our front porch - they only use the Historic Loop
