Driving Directions: From From Funchal Madeira Airport (FNC): Distance to Cabanas de S. Jorge Village is 26 kilometres, approximately 41 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis and hire cars are available at the airport, and are the recommended transport for reaching S. Jorge. Local buses also operate between the airport and the nearby town of Faial, 10 kilometres from Sao Jorge.

Getting around. Funchal and the surrounding areas are served by a good public bus network. A car is useful for travelling further afield. Flights departing the island are usually bound for either Lisbon or Porto on the Portuguese mainland, although there are direct flights to other major European cities.
