Driving Directions: A taxi from the airport to the hotel costs approximately 25 EUR. Alternatively, guests can pre-book the airport shuttle (surcharge) or catch a bus. Travellers will find Funchal's streets very easy to navigate on foot, but Madeira itself is quite hilly and therefore taxis provide a cheap and reliable alternative. Buses also operate in and around Funchal, while ferries take tourists to other coastal towns. Driving directions: From the airport head for Funchal. Take exit 13 for Jardim Botanico (Botanical Gardens) and Camacha. Continue and then turn left following the signs to Funchal. Drive under the viaduct and continue down the hill for approximately two kilometres, turning right in the direction of Botanical Gardens and Choupana Hills. After the gardens, turn left, drive up the hill and turn right at Miranda Restaurant. Continue and turn left at the Choupana Hills sign. The hotel is 250 metres along.
