Location. Heriot-Watt University is located in Edinburgh, Scotland, in a parkland setting, three miles from Edinburgh International Airport and six miles west of the city centre and Waverley railway station. Hotel Features. The campus offers modern accommodation in a purpose-built conference centre during termtime. During vacations, the halls of residence are also available for visitors' use. Getting there. Taxis wait at a rank next to the terminal, and cost approximately 10 GBP to Heriot-Watt University, depending on traffic and time of day. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Frequent buses link the university campus with the city centre all day and night. Edinburgh city and the Lothian region are served by a good bus network. There are hop-on, hop-off stops for city bus tours throughout central Edinburgh. Black cabs are available from the streets. The historic centre's cobbled streets are best explored by foot. Driving in the centre is not recommended for visitors, due to the complicated one-way systems.

Driving directions. From Edinburgh International Airport, follow the signs marked Exit All Routes A8. Follow the A8, signposted Edinburgh. At Gogar Junction, branch left on to the A720 (signposted Berwick upon Tweed). Take the left-hand lane for Edinburgh - West and Glasgow. Continue on to the Mermiston Junction roundabout, then take the second exit on to the A720 (signposted City Bypass South). Keep in the left-hand lane, then branch left for Edinburgh West, City Centre, Kilmarnock. At Calder Junction roundabout, take the third exit on to Calder Road (A71, signposted Kilmarnock). At the next roundabout, take the first exit. At the next roundabout, take the first exit on to Riccarton Mains Road. At the next roundabout, take the second exit on to the Heriot-Watt University Campus.
