There are 14 meeting and banqueting rooms at the Convención, accommodating between eight and 2,000 delegates. Audio-visual equipment and support is available, as well as wireless Internet in all public areas (surcharge).

Guestrooms. The 790 rooms are modern with light-coloured wood furniture and bright decor. They are all air-conditioned and have marbled bathrooms with tubs and hair dryers. Amenities also include satellite television, pay movies, and video-game consoles. Some rooms have disabled access.

Expert Tip. From The Hotel Convención it is a pleasant walk through the great Retiro Park to the 'golden triangle' of Madrid's internationally-renowned art museums, all within easy reach of each other. These are the Prado, which houses Goya, Velazquez, El Greco, and Bosch's fabulous 'Garden of Earthly Delights'; the Thyssen-Bornemisza, and the Reina Sofia, with Picasso's masterpiece, 'Guernica'.

Driving Directions: From Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD): Distance to Hotel Convención is nine kilometres, approximately 25 minutes' drive.

Getting there. A taxi from the airport costs around 25 EUR (visitors should be sure to use the official stand). Alternatively, the Metro is located on Terminal two, and runs between 6 a.m. and 2 a.m. This can be taken to O'Donnell, and you are only 300 metres from the hotel. A bus (Route 89) is also available.

Getting around. Hotel Convención is located within the Salamanca residential district of Madrid, minutes from the historic and financial quarters, and only 300 metres from O'Donnell Underground, providing easy access throughout the city. The Atocha Train Station, two kilometres away, provides alternative access.

Driving directions. Head south, following signs for Madrid, onto the M14. Merge onto the A2, and take exit 4b onto the M30, towards Valencia. Continue, following signs for Calle de O'Donnell, until you turn onto this street. The Convención is number 53.
