The Steigenberger Inselhotel Konstanz is a former Dominican monastery dating from 1236 and set in verdant parkland. It is located on an island on Lake Constance, eight kilometres from Reichenau Island. Boat trips around the lake can be boarded 500 metres from the hotel, and guests can visit the butterfly house and gardens of Mainau Island, five kilometres from the hotel. The Rhine Falls, Europe's largest waterfalls, are located 50 kilometres away. Zurich Airport is 65 kilometres (40 miles) from the hotel, a 60 minute drive.
