Location. THE US GRANT hotel stands amid the vibrant atmosphere of downtown San Diego, Calif. Constructed in 1910, this luxury hotel completed a $56 million renovation in 2006. The lobby features gray-veined white Italian Carrara marble floors, Deniece Duscheone hand-milled carpets, hand-carved ceilings and polished mahogany woodwork. Columns are gilded with 24-karat white gold. Specially commissioned American Indian artwork is exhibited throughout the hotel. The Grant Grill serves California Native Regional cuisine, and houses a full bar. The restaurant hosts live piano or jazz entertainment on scheduled days. Guestrooms. THE US GRANT offers 270 richly detailed guestrooms with original American Indian artworks, crown molding and custom-crafted furnishings. Entryways feature African walnut wood floors.
