Becky'sPlace is a classic "Old Tahoe" home. This warm home has all the charm of a bygone era, but all the modern conveniences we need to truly relax. Located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe this house is close to Tahoe City and walking distance to the lake. A member of the private Tahoe Park homeowner's beach, you have exclusive access to one of the nicest beaches on the lake. Set of over 2 acres of lakefront, the Tahoe Park beach has 2 piers, a protected swim area, lakeside bbq's and picnic tables you can reserve for a sunset dinner or family lunch. There are horseshoe pits, a volleyball and basketball court, and a small playground behind the comfort of a privacy fence. With sprawling lawns, rose lined walks and flower beds throughout there is something for everyone at the Tahoe Park beach. Besides, the kids may even learn how to catch crawfish by the week's end!
Becky's Place too has beautiful grounds. Set on a large parcel, the house has a beautifully landscaped yard complete with a level lawn out front, bocci ball court out back, a slate patio and all connected by a meandering cobblestone path. BBQ'ers love the gas grill on the deck and there is even a brick smoker for cooking some mouth watering ribs out back!
The sunny front deck is perfect for morning coffee and the paper. There is a patio table and chairs and more Adirondack style furniture for the rest of the group. The backyard too has a patio table and chairs, and a hammock to sleep under the stars! Last, but not least, there is a new outdoor hot tub with plenty of jets to soothe those aching muscles after a day on the trails!
The house has lots of rooms to explore. Each bedroom has its own theme, whether the "Cowboys and Indians" master bedroom, the fisherman's room, a bear room for the kids, the Wooden boat suite downstairs and an Olympic hall full of memorabilia from the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley. The beds are comfy and inviting with plenty of quilts and pillows and there is always a reading light and a place to put your water by the bedside. The wood boat suite downstairs has its own livingroom and kitchen as well as bedroom and bath. This works great for two families, or those looking for a little more privacy.
The living areas are great. Enjoy a crackling fire in the fireplace and take the work out of it by using the gas starter to get it going! There is lots of room for everyone to relax or watch tv with plenty of couches and chairs. The new dining table seats 12 easily, so no one is left out. The kitchen has everything you come to expect with all new appliances, a refrigerator with ice maker, oven, microwave, dishwasher and disposal. From stainless steel cookware to crab crackers, champagne glasses to casserole dishes, you will find everything you need to cook and serve even the most elaborate holiday meal. Speaking of holiday crowds, don't worry about having enough kitchen space, there are actually 2 in this house, so there is room for the turkey in the fridge and two ovens to cook on! The kids will find plenty of games to keep themselves occupied too.
This house is conveniently located close to Tahoe City and walking distance to the lake and private beach area, 2 area markets, a bike shop, Fire Sign Cafe (my personal favorite breakfast at the lake), Sunnyside Resort with fine dining, a bar and lakeside deck for lunch and dinner, a fullservice marina with boat and jet ski rentals, and the West Shore bike path.
