CEDAR MOON comfortably sleeps between 2-8 persons in 4-bedrooms, but if you have a larger group of people consider renting together with Huckleberry Hide-Away, which will sleep an additional 4 persons (see description below). The entire 24 acre property is ideal for family reunions, small gatherings, and workshops. The house and cottages can be rented together or separately. These two dwellings are close enough to drop in for tea, yet offer complete privacy from each other.
HUCKLEBERRY HIDE-AWAY is an attractive new oceanview cabin with loft, wood floors, well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, wood-stove, large deck, and gentle 100 metre fern-flanked path to the driftwood beach. Sleeping accommodations include 1 private bedroom with queen-sized bed and french doors to deck, plus 1 double bed in an open view loft, and 1-single bed in the living room reading nook, all with luxurious soft Egyptian Cotton bed linens. There is an ocean-front deck, well equipped modern kitchen, plus washer/dryer. Huckleberry is located on its own 12-acresof forest. You also have a secluded beach, oysters & clams, forest trails to explore, and much more to discover. An ideal retreat for a romantic getaway, sleeps a maximum of 4 persons.
When you arrive on Cortes Island - wilderness, peace and privacy surrounds you. This is a place to retreat, heal, reflect, read,hike, play, rest or perhaps take one of the complimentary canoes out to watch the morning mist rise over neighbouring islands, or the sunrise appear from behind the coastal range mountains. Cortes Island is a magical place and there is so much to explore: lakes, beaches,lagoons, trails, local dances and events to attend if you're in the mood. Ifit's raining, curl up by the woodstove or relax in the window seat with a book and cup of warm tea. We also have a public library, restaurants, bike shop, general stores, Hollyhock and an organic food co-op.
We are also committed to a perma-culture seaside garden that is a sanctuary for meditation, abundant with color, food, and flowers. We welcome your puttering and invite you to gather the organic fruits of your labors including herbs, salad greens, edible flowers and berries.
If you are planning to take an island sabbatical to write that book or just for a long healing retreat. Then consider renting for a month or more between October & June, when we offer special long-term rates depending on the length of your stay.
