This truly delightful Provence vacation property consists of ancient buildings which have been converted into 2 separate houses with modern living accommodation whilst retaining much of their original charm. The buildings are arranged around and separated by a sunny and sheltered garden. Each Provence vacation house has its own entrance.
The Provence vacation property is in the heart of Venasque, one of the prettiest fortified cliff-hanging hilltop villages on the northern outskirts of the Plateau de Vaucluse, the wild and beautiful northern portion of the Luberon-Provence. The entrance to the Provence vacation homes is at the end of a narrow cul-de-sac generally used by pedestrians only.
Car parking areas are provided in and around the village.
Venasque has a baker's shop, a grocery store and several restaurants which also double up as cafés and two small hotels. Nothing is more than a five minute walk from your front door!! There is even a 6th century Baptistery to see!
Venasque is off the (beach) tourist trail; it has retained a wonderful local charm. The village offers an ideal base for exploring Vaucluse with its vineyards and Roman history.
For more serious shopping and their famous weekly markets, the pretty villages of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (antiques) and Pernes-les-Fontaines, Gordes and the town of Carpentras are within 30 minutes drive from Venasque. Mont Ventoux, Avignon, Orange and Aix-en-Provence are an hour's drive. Marseille is at an hour and 1/2.
