Welcome to the Sweet Monroe Retreat. We are located along the western shore of Florida, located on the Gulf of Mexico and within thirty minutes of the Tampa International Airport.

Our Inn is in a great beach location within walking distance to some fun shops and great restaurants with fun things to do and see…Our sunsets are second to none on this beautiful beach.

This was the most amazing vaction for my husband and I. It was such a short distancefrom the beach, clean rooms, such good customer service. We felt right at home, what a cozy place! We are defintelty are coming back next year, we have not had so much fun at any vacation place in years!! We had the beach, pool, hot tub, a dream come true for us as we were in need for relaxation! This was the place that let us escape! I will recommend Sweet Monroe Retreat to all my family and friends!

I went to the Sweet Monroe Retreat in October 2010. It was an absolute charm... this place has it all! We were welcomed by Diana, the owner, who is a doll. Not only she is so friendly to the point she makes you feel like you are spending your vacation at an old friend's house, she will go beyond the call of duty to ensure you have a great trip (from stocking the kitchen prior to your arrival to suggesting great places to see and things to do... she lives in the area, whatevr you fancy, she knows were to direct you). Also, the rooms are amazing, very private and complete with a kitchen... and a private outside hot tub!!!... The resort is a 2 minute walk to a glorious sandy beach and a 5 minute walk to a strip with great restaurants, live bands and a great ambiance. I highly recommend this place... I actually talk about it to all my friends here in Montreal!
It is a definate "must see"... Go and have a great time, I know you will!!!

What a wonderful vacation! My family and I stayed in Unit 5 and it truly looks and feels like a home away home. The location is perfect as it is just steps from the beach and within walking distance to great restaurants and bars. The pool is private and very inviting; the best part was having access to our very own hot tub! All arrangements were made through Diana, and not only is she welcoming and accommodating but she ensured that all amenities needed were provided. We will definitely be returning.

Sweet Monroe is located perfectly walking distance from a very well kept, peaceful beach. The cottages felt like luxury apartments.
Sweet Monroe is your perfect retreat away from home.!
The One bedroom we stayed in has a king bed and its own bathroom and TV. There is an additional TV in the living room, along with couches. The kitchen is big and and spacious and can accommodate everyone in my family.
There is ample street parking and the staff was very accomodating and pleasant. Ask for Diana - she was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and entertainment.

My family and I stayed there and it was great. We had a great time and was able to walk everywhere. The place is really clean a lot of nice people there and the beach is so close. I liked it a lot because we DID NOT have to cross any streets to go to the beach which is good since I have a small kid. We will be back for sure. Worth every penny thanks everyone for a great vacation

I had my entire family (about 16) people stay at the Balboa Beach Retreat and it was wonderful. Walking distance to the beach, pool, restaurants and the bars. It was a perfect vacation. Everyone is very helpful and kind and our stay was great. We will be booking again for next year. The house is clean, beautiful and it just worked out perfect. Thank you to everyone at the retreat you made our vacation awesome.

What a fabulous place to stay. amazing pool, hot tub and yard and joe and diana were the absolute best!!! The balboa sweet was stunning and we couldn't ask for a nicer spot. We love to kick back and do nothing and loved doing it here. when we were busy, we never had to go far to get where we wanted and if we didn't want to drive, we took the trolley!!
I would reccomend this spot to all!!

We have stayed at the Balboa Beach Retreat many times over the last 9 years...........its more then a vacation-it is a home away from home for us! Joe and his staff go up and beyond to make your stay a happy and memorable one. The rooms are very clean and cheery!! The beach is so close for your long walks or to watch the sunset with your sweetie! Close to alot of fun entertainment and/or dining-don't miss a dinner at PJ's or Guppy's...they will become a fast favorite. We live local and won't go anywhere else....you won't be sorry with a stay at the Balboa Beach Retreat. One stay and you will be back,I know we will. I stayed at the Balboa Beach Retreat for a week and it was a great vacation. The owner Joe and all of the employees are beyond helpful, kind and accommodating. The unit number 7 is absolutely breathtaking. It’s the biggest 1 bedroom ever. It’s so spacious that it fits 4 comfortably. The hot tub and pool were at perfect temperature. Overall I had a great experience…I recommend it to anyone interested in a great vacation and will definitely be returning in the future.
