Rentalo.com Sets Online Booking Enhancements

The Travel Pulse > Travel Technology and Other Services, March 8, 2005

Rentalo.com, the internet directory and search engine for rental accommodations worldwide, is offering new online enhancements with its ‘??define search” option and an expanded affiliates program that earns revenue for travel agents and travel-related e-commerce web sites. Rentalo.com offers quick access to 100,000 rentals in 15,000 destinations worldwide. As a search engine, Rentalo.com specializes in linking online visitors to rental property owners or managers. On Rentalo.com, travelers and travel agents will find the best values in vacation homes and condos, hotels, B&Bs and other lodgings by using Rentalo’s free destination-based inquiry service. Rentalo matches travelers’ inquiry criteria with subscribers’ properties.

Those who prefer to do their own search can use the new “define search” option. Rentalo’s “define search” allows viewers to narrow their search with dates of travel, number of travelers, type of rental (vacation home, hotel, B&B, etc.) and to add other criteria such as number of bedrooms, pet-friendly, handicapped accessibility and choice of amenities. Rentalo allows viewers to look at all accommodations at their destination of choice or select specific categories: vacation rentals, hotels/motels or B&Bs. Now with “define search”, they can further narrow their search. Travel agents who register on the site and other e-commerce travel sites that register their e-mails can take advantage of Rentalo’s destination-based inquiry service. In this online search service, Rentalo maintains privacy for registered users by using “virtual” e-mails when sending out a general query to the particular destination. Only when the registered user contacts an owner or manager directly will their actual e-mail become known. In Rentalo’s extensive inventory of rentals in the U.S and abroad, travel agents will easily find vacation and business rental properties in all price ranges in cities and resorts everywhere.

Travel agents who register on Rentalo have access to rentals that offer commissions of up to 20 percent. At the same time, travel agents and other e-commerce travel sites that sign up for Rentalo’s expanded affiliates program can increase revenues on their web site. Travel agents already registered on Rentalo need only to register as an affiliates publisher and add a Rentalo link to their site to become a “publisher” for Rentalo. Then every time a visitor clicks on the Rentalo link on the web site and completes a destination-based inquiry form, agents earn a $1 commission. Agents who are registering for the first time on Rentalo.com can do so by logging on the web site and then clicking on travel agents.
