Delivering Higher Quality Referrals

Delivering higher quality referrals for our property owners is Rentalo's top business priority. Therefore in 2006, we committed a very high percentage of our internal resources to focus exclusively on these efforts. We are starting to see positive results already, and expect to see greater improvements in the coming months. We have undertaken numerous initiatives that will help in this important area of the business. Below is a brief summary of some of those initiaves and our accomplisments in 2006.

Increased number of High Quality Private Inquiries - In 2006, new agreements with traffic sources and search engines such as Google were put into place to increase the traffic directly to our property pages. Within 72 hours after a subscription has been activated, we set in motion a series of proprietory traffic campaigns via our traffic network (consisting of search engines and lodging related traffic sources). As these strategies continue to reap greater returns, we will continue to expand our property level campaigns with more traffic sources in 2007.

Free copy writter tips & recommendations - In addition to implementing proprietory traffic campaigns, we now have a dedicated staff of copy writers that review individual property listings in our directory and make suggestions on best keyword terms and phrases. Text changes are sent to our property owners for their review and approval. Owners can easily review and accept our copy writer's recommendations by simply clicking on a link included in the email. This text changes are excellent for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and can help your property ad rank higher in the search engines.

More filters available for destination inquiries- A new editorial facility (item 12 under Edit/Manage) was release in the summer to allow owners to filter destination inquiries based on the following parameters:

Inquiry Approval Quality (QA) Assurance - Fraud affects us all in the internet industry. In Rentalo, travelers and travel agents can click on the "Submit Inquiry" tab on any of our 15,000 destinations and complete a short form to get offers from multiple property owners at once. To minimize the number of deceptive or fraudulent inquiries, Rentalo has enforced an email verification process for all new travelers and travel agents for the past 2 years. In addition, we also have a dedicated staff performing QA functions, which include 24x7 monitoring and manual approval of suspicious inquiries. We understand these fraudulent activities, however minimal, hurt our property owner and travelers. They also hurt Rentalo's reputation, and therefore it is one of our highest priorities to eliminate (or at least minimize) these activities. Our goal is to continue improving our QA process in order to deliver an ever increasing number of high quality referrals to our property owners. Early in 2007, we plan to implement additional fraud detection technologies.
