Well our unique location and property was instrumental in River Estate being the only Kauai property to be included in the February 2006 issue of National Geographic Adventure Magazine as it's recommended accommodation on Kauai to set up your base camp while exploring the island. We're very proud of that. We've also been listed in Fodor's Guide, Lonely Planet Guide and the Los Angeles Times Travel Online Deals and recommendations section. The house and property seem to just grab your imagination and stay there. We have customers coming back year after year.
The Guest House is tastefully decorated with Balinese furniture and art and is immaculately maintained. It was completely renovated in 2006-7 and remains in like new condition. The meticulously maintained grounds sparkle with vibrant colors that will delight you senses. You'll hear the exotic bird calls of the Shama Thrush who never seem to be far away and you'll see the night fishing Grey Herons that live along the stream and make appearances all the time as the pristine river washes over the stones in the river. You'll feel as one with nature here and fully recharged as you head out each new day exploring the miracle that is North Kauai.
Our secluded hideaway is exceptionally private and casually elegant and is located on the grounds of River Estate which is a riverfront botanical garden between Hanalei and the northwest end of the island and a short distance upriver from Wainiha Beach. In fact you can actually paddle down the river and back from the house to the beach and into the ocean. Where else can you do that on the north shore of Kauai from a vacation rental? The unique location of this property will allow you to feel like you're in your own private sanctuary yet just outside the estate you'll find all the activities and attractions that North Kauai is famous for. It's all there at your disposal yet you can always come back to the Guest House to relax, regroup and plan your next adventure.
