As first time visitors to New Orleans it ment a lot to us the way Craig and Donna took care and gave good recomandations. The apartment was just fantastic and small things like some fruit and food told us about concern for the guests. The locations was perfect and even though french quarter is fantastic I liked Frenchman street a lot.
Chez Nous is highly recomended from these norwegian guests.

Thank you so much for a lovely stay! Chez Nous made our engagement trip to New Orleans perfect! The quiet location made it very relaxing, but we still walked everywhere- French Quarter, Warehouse District, Bourbon Street, Riverwalk, even to Harrah's and back! The convenice to Frenchmen Street was excellent- loved 13 Restaurant and Snug Harbor Jazz.
We drove from Tallahassee- got off I-10, parked outside Chez Nous, and didn't move the car until we had to (unfortunately) leave. From the first step in the door (after 6.5 hour drive), it was like being home. We loved the space, the kitchen (thank you for putting healthy food in the fridge like OJ and fruit!), etc, and what a deal! Have already started recommending to friends, and my fiance and I hope to return yearly. Maybe a fall visit next time so we can enjoy the porch table and chairs a bit more?

I had a wonderful time celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and Chez Nous was one of the reasons why. It's not too far from institutions like Cafe du Monde, and it offers a safe retreat from the madness that occurs on Bourbon Street.
The amenities are nice, but the private villa is more suited for couples or families. I got a good deal for what they offered, so I'm not complaining -- the food was great, the locals were nice, and the parades were fun.
While I enjoyed what the city had to offer, I also made it a point to visit the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina -- particularly Gentilly, Lakeview, and the Lower Ninth Ward. I'm sure you're familiar with the pictures on television, but they really don't do justice to the magnitude of the disaster. I felt sad and angry seeing how, six months later, those areas are in no better shape now than they were on that fateful summer day.
There were parades going on for all but one day that I was there; Mardi Gras is so all-consuming until one doesn't have to leave the French Quarter. I managed to do other activities outside the Quarter, like go to the National D-Day Museum and visit Oak Alley Plantation ... but mass transit is VERY limited (for obvious reasons). Therefore, if you go to the Big Easy, be prepared to either rent a car, take a cab, or do A LOT of walking.

Chez Nous was wonderful for our family vacation. My husband, one-year-old son, and I had everything we needed and for a very reasonable price. The villa was so conveniently located that we were able to walk to the Quarter several times a day and still have a place to get away from it all. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and it really did feel like our home away from home. (Thanks for the crib--Xander slept well every night!) The self-catered breakfast worked well--it was a nice way to start the day. Chez Nous was the perfect combination of B&B and vacation rental. Thanks so much!!
P.S. Our thoughts are with you during the recovery from Katrina. Hopefully, you and yours are safe, and we hope to see you again soon!

Craig and Donna,
Lyvie and I would like to thank you for being such wonderful hosts. Our 10th anniversary couldn't have been celebrated at a nicer place. We loved your Villa. It felt like we were in a home away from home. We walked everywhere in the French Quarter. Every morning we had coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde. The fruit salad you prepared for us was a nice touch. It was very refreshing after a long walk in the quarter.
Your villa had all we needed for comfort and security. It was also very convenient to have wireless internet service. It worked without interruption during our stay. We also liked the thick towels you provided for us. We'll certainly recommend your place to our friends.
Best Regards,
Ralph and Lyvie
