The Child Family

The only mistake we made in picking Diane's songbird cabin is we stayed for only 3 nights and 2 days! This is a restful haven tucked against the Christmas tree mountain, surrounded with peace and beauty. The cabin is clean and basic and comfortable. The view from the porch looks over a valley bracketed by blue misty hills. I highly recommend this cabin and especially the warmth and hospitality of Diane and her family and other Mountain Dale and Boone residents. My son loved Dicey the dog wandering up and keeping him company on the porch. We picked blueberries and fed bread to the trout in the stream. We left, wishing we lived closer.

After Hurricane Wilma wiped out our vacation, my wife and I (with Springer Spanial Molly in tow) found this wonderful cabin. My wife has been wanting to rent a cabin in the mountains for a laid back vacation. Out of our 5 days at the Songbird, we only left the house for 2 of these days! The rest was spent wandering the 30 plus acre grounds with Molly. In addition to the songbirds, we came home to 11 deer one night and on another occassion a flock of wild turkey's. The view from the deck is spectacular with views of Beech Mt. and Grandfather Mt. The local people were very, very freindly waving as they drove by. . Of course, Diane is as nice and accomidating person as there is. If you are looking for a great get away, you won't be dissappointed.

Hi Diane, The only thing I don't like about Songbird is that it is way to far from Texas... I want to come home. ˜ Your friend from way down yonder, wade
