Things to do in Quebec City

Numerous historic attractions of Old Quebec (Vieux-Quebec), internationally known Summer Festival and the famous Chateau Frontenac, a historic Quebec hotel are waiting for travelers in this beautiful city. Fine museums, gourmet restaurants and Montmorency Falls are some of the city's attractions worth visiting.

Montmorency Falls

Located near Quebec City, the 275-foot high Montmorency Falls are one of the area's most scenic attractions. The falls are 98 feet taller than Niagara Falls and fall into the Saint Lawrence River. There is a long staircase that takes visitors to the top of the falls offering several lookout points. Those who prefer to avoid the exercise of climbing the stairs can also take an aerial tram that carries passengers from the base to the top of the falls.

Quebec City Summer Festival

Quebec City Summer Festival (Festival d'ete de Quebec in French) is an annual event that takes place since 1968 and promotes the city's artistic, economic and touristic potential. Held during the first two weeks of July, the festival offers musical spectacles that include classical music, rock, francophone music and hip-hop. Numerous events and animation for children are also available.

Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre

Nestled along the Saint Lawrence River 19 miles east of Quebec City, Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre is a beautiful catholic sanctuary that receives about a half-million pilgrims every year. Built for an honor of Saint Anne, Basilica provided a place of worship since 1876. It was destroyed by a fire in 1922 but was rebuilt in 1926 and since then has been one of the most popular attractions for those booking a Quebec rental.

Old Town The old part of Quebec City resembles a beautiful French village and while visiting this part of the city, travelers will feel as in Europe. 18th and 19th century houses in a perfect state, cobblestone streets and charming restaurants characterize this place creating the perfect settings for family stroll, historic tours and photographs.
